DescriptionSUPERSIMMETRY is the project winner of the call for tenders for the design and setting-up of Piazza Arbarello 8 building, proposed by Compagnia San Paolo. The contest proposed the project design of the common areas in the new location of the Fondazione Collegio Carlo Alberto (research institution of the Compagnia di San Paolo), within the ex Faculty of Economics. In collaboration with Lageard Studio and Truly Design, Vairano Studio takes part to the competition: the project proposes an artistic/architectural language of apparent rupture with the historical pre-existence that hosts it. Executed on wooden supports (mdf fireproof or plasterboard panels) and on portions of walls and ceilings, the amorphous, abstract and hyper-colouristic pictorial realizations reveal a great respect and absolute reversibility of the intervention towards the protected good. The result is a great visual impact realized by art scenarios that become function and relationship spaces. Three common rooms are characterized by fifty multi-purpose poufs that allow different configurations for an informal and flexible use of the space. Information and directional totems are transformed into sculptures, giving to the students meeting spaces and guiding them through the hierarchy of colours inside the College. Anamorphic panels, paths, video projections, information boards, open wood furniture in phenolic birch made in digital fabrication, contribute to an informal and flexible use of space. If necessary they are suitable to accommodate different functions: from small informal meetings of student work groups to video projections held in the auditorium, in the basement. |
